The goggle mount sounds like it might make a nice hat mount for trail running.

As of 5-19-05 there is no "BUY" button on the Garmin accessory purchase web site for this item. After an email and a phone call I found out they haven't received them yet. I placed an order anyway since it doesn't seem to be available from any of the Garmin dealers either, the sales guy didn't have an expected ship date...

They are now available at offroute.com for $18.95.

I don't know if that is a goggle mount or not, I've emailed the tech people at Garmin and they tell me it is not waterproof and should not be used for swimming. Anybody have any different information?

I think Joey may be right, and have to agree with the Garmin folks. I guess I'm changing my tune. If you're going to swim with it, put it in a plastic bag or water proof sack under your swim cap or the top-back of your wet suit.

The FR201 and Foretrex's are much more water resistant. We take them in the water under our wet suits all the time. :)

I got one--and it works for running and cycling, convenient. BUT you have to take the GPS unit out of the handy universal cradle to plug into your USB port! Realize the USB port is in a bad spot (end of the unit) but they should have figured this out.

Next step for Garmin--build the universal bracket into the next-gen 301 so that you can plug into the USB anytime.

I bought this primarily for the wristband, which is much better than the fabric thing that came with my 301. I left the sturdier (I'm not a big zip-tie guy) original mount on my bike and simply swap the GPS between brackets. Worth the money to me, although I would have bought just the the wristband if it was offered by itself.
