For the third year in a row, MotionBased is the official Sea Otter Classic course mapping sponsor. That's right, we created all the print and online course maps. Even though we're like a downhiller on a ten-speed making print maps, we managed to get it done. Online is our comfort zone and we do our best to raise the bar each year. Last year, we enhanced our coverage beyond detailed metrics and map simulators with courses and fly through movies. This year, we created an online first by syncing a helmet cam video with a moving dot on a map and elevation profile. It's far from an API implementation with YouTube, but we wanted to share the dream.

If you're lucky enough to make the cycling pilgrimage to the Sea Otter Classic, visit us in the Garmin booth. For the second year, Garmin is a major sponsor and styling under the big-top. The Garmin and MotionBased crew will be there answering questions and rappin' all things GPS.
To get the most out of your Garmin at the Sea Otter Classic, download a Sea Otter course. If you’re not familiar with course functionality, learn more on our knowledge base. The course function enables you to navigate a previously recorded route using a map and elevation profile. In addition, you get real time course information. So if you’re climbing Carmel Valley and losing steam, your device will keep you informed with ‘distance to end’ and more.

are there any detailed metrics for the 2007 100 Road Bike Tour? The information listed on motionbased is of the 2006 course, which differed from the 2007 course.
